Is SkinnyRx Legit?

SkinnyRx holds an open FDA warning letter (skinnyrx.com, compounded-drug misbranding claims) and a BBB B rating built on an unusually high complaint volume — 155 complaints filed. The B rating itself isn't alarming on paper, but the volume behind it, alongside an open federal finding, is worth a reader's attention.

FDA warning letter on file

Lean Rx, Inc. dba SkinnyRx — MARCS-CMS 717989, issued 2026-02-20 (Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER)).

FDA states it reviewed skinnyrx.com in December 2025 and found compounded semaglutide/tirzepatide product labels displaying the "SkinnyRx" name, which FDA alleges falsely suggests SkinnyRx itself compounds the drugs (it does not). FDA also cites on-site claims — e.g. "the same active ingredient as FDA-approved medications" — for implying the compounded products are FDA-approved when they are not. FDA states both sets of claims make the products misbranded under FDCA sections 502(a) and 502(bb) [21 U.S.C. §§ 352(a), 352(bb)].

Third-party records

What we found outside SkinnyRx's own site — BBB, its named pharmacy partner (or lack of one), and whether it publishes a real HIPAA notice.

Better Business Bureau

B rating · not BBB accredited · 155 complaints filed (checked 2026-08-30)

155 complaints filed per BBB's own profile; the page did not separately state how many remain unanswered.

Pharmacy partner

SkinnyRx does not name the specific pharmacy that fills or compounds its medications (checked privacy policy (inconclusive), 2026-08-30). That is the norm for this category, not unusual for SkinnyRx specifically — most providers we've checked don't name one either. Site is JS-rendered; automated fetch could not reliably retrieve page content — inconclusive, not a confirmed absence.

HIPAA disclosure

Inconclusive — site is JS-rendered and automated fetch could not retrieve the actual policy text.
